Canon EOS iX, an EOS with smaller film?

This is a camera I got for 5 euros at Ebay, body only. It is a rather ordinary EOS camera that takes the smaller APS film. So, what is the reason to by an EOS camera that takes smaller and lower quality APS film? That is what customers thought and the EOS iX was a total sales failure.

The camera takes all EF lenses and there is a crop factor of 1.5 to the focal length, thus the 50mm becomes 75mm with this camera.

I've put an Exaktar 55mm/f1.7 with an M42 to EOS adapter on the camera. The lens is fast for night and indoor shots, and sharp too. Film was a Fuji 200 ASA expired in 2008. I got some nice and sharp pictures, the exposure system is accurate and the lens is of good quality thus bypassing the smaller film disadvantage.
