Yashica 24 TLR

I gave a try with my Yashica 24, the camera was designed for 620 (24 exposures) film but there is a marker in the interior body for the start position of 120 (12 exposures) film.
The camera has an coupled lightmeter that uses one 1.35V battery, I used the 1.5V equivalent and the exposure needed 1/2 stop down.

When using the camera I realized that the inner element of the lens had fallen off! So, I only got half film exposed.
Anyway, here are the samples

I hope the next try will be more successful.

kodak Vest Pocket Model B

This is the second generation of the famous Vest Pocket camera by Kodak. Its design is different from the first model and follows the classic design of the majority of foldable cameras.

The lens is a normal lens (around 50mm equivalent). There are 2 shutter positions, T (Timed) - one click of the lever opens the shutter, the next click closes it, and I (Instant) with a speed of I think 1/50sec.
The diaphagm is set by a disk and is marked 1 to 4, I believe aperture number 1 is an f/8, 2 is f/11, 3 corresponds to f/16 and 4 corresponds to f/22.

The camera needs no focusing, all subjects from 2.50m generally to Eternity will be sharp.

I received my camera in bad condinion full of dust and rust. After a cleaning it looked a lot better. As I had an 127 film I loaded the camera and got out shooting. The film inside was a Kodak Portra 160ASA color film but the lab scanned it in Black and White. From the pictures I see there is a lot of blur out of the center of the image which stays sharp. Maybe the lens needs a lot more cleaning.

Here are the pictures from the film in B/W

Nikon Zoom 500AF

Here are some more photos from the compact Nikon Zoom 500Af

The camera is relatively small, with a zoom range from 38 to 105mm
Aperture are rather small, so the camera needs good light. I got some shaken photos as there is no low light warning. There is no focus lock either. The main subject must be around the center of the frame.

Some more samples from the damaged film that expired in 2004:

Holga lens for Canon, make the EOS a digital Holga

This is a little plastic lens that immitates the holga effect. Bright and saturated images with a lot of vignetting.
It has no electronics, so when it's on the camera and the A program must be selected. Aperture is displayed as 00 but exposure of the EOS is correct and the shutter speed is displayed.

Focusing is done by symbols,
I person, for portraits at 1m
Group of three persons at 2-3m
Larger group at 4-5 and
Landscape for over 10m

The aperture is something around f26, so the camera needs a bright sunlit day and an ISO of 400-800 to record some nice images.

I tried it on the EOS, the results are stunning for such a cheap lens. There is a lack of sharpness and flare in contre jour but this is the Holga effect:

Canon EOS 850, an only automatic SLR?

This is a strange camera, it is a Canon EOS 850 SLR, that takes EF lenses but there is only an automatic mode. Is it possible for an SLR? Who they though that their clients would be? People buy SLRs for the possibility to fully control their camera as they like.

Anyway, I bought this one as it had the tiny Holga lens on it, I used it with my digital EOS 5d...

With the holga lens the camera is very small. Too bad it cannot be used as the lens has no electronics, so the automatic camera cannot take pictures with it.
