Kiev 4 some more

Some more photos from the Kiev 4 I used in the summertime.

Canon Demi S

This is a half frame camera, takes two pictures in one normal frame of a 35mm film. The camera has a fast f1.7 standard lens and a coupled selenium light meter, The user matches the lighmeter needle with the shutter/aperture combination needle to get a correct exposure.
I cleaned the camera and managed to move the shutter but after some days I left the camera the shutter got stuck again. I must clean it more.

The Demi's design is very nice so I must repair it soon and use it!

Canon EOS 1000 FN

I bought a Canon EOS 1000 FN camera at the flea market because it had a Canon EF 35-80mm lens on.
The camera feels and is plasticky, it has all the main functions of an EOS camera (P, Av, Tv, creative modes etc.) but lacks the Depth-Of-Field preview.

I tried a 100 ASA Fuji film with some manual old lenses. In order to mount a non-Canon lens in the camera a lever in the lens mount needs to be stuffed with something (paper tissue) to stay cocked.

Here are some results, all taken in Av aperture priority mode.

With an old Hokunar 35mm/f3.5 lens that is very soft at the edges

Kiev 4 with an external viewfinder

I found an external viewfinder for rangefinders cameras in the flea market. It has lenses for viewing with the 135mm, 85mm, 35mm, 28mm lenses. So, I put some film in the Kiev 4 with a working light-meter and tested my Jupiter 9 85mm/f2 and the 35mm/2.8

These are my Kievs with their lenses

Here are some photos

Nikon L35AF, a second try

I liked the performance of the Nikon L35AF so I put another film in it.

Once the ASA/ISO of the film is set the camera takes pictures automatically. Just press the button!

The camera delivers nice crisp pictures with accurate exposure.
