More from Canon EOS 630

I shot a roll of Kodak Ultra 400 with this wonderful camera.

With the Tokina 12-24mm / f4 wide angle zoom. It shows vignetting from 12mm to 15mm.

with the Helios 44-2 58mm/f2 manual focus M42 standard lens.

Canon EOS 630 with expired film

I put a roll from my long expired stock of Agfa 100 XRG films. I rated it on camera to 20ASA and went shooting with my old Sigma 28-105mm/f3.9-5.6 the Canon EF 28mm/2.8 and a Tamron 135mm/2.8.

Canon EOS 630 2nd film

This time I loaded the camera with a long expired Agfa 100 XRG film and set it to 25 ASA.
The negatives needed a bit of contrast but the lab scanner made it fine.

Canon EOS 630 (EOS 600)

Bought it from the local craiglist for 50 euros with the Canon EF 28mm/f2.8 lens.
The camera is heavy and sturdy with a proffessional feel.
It has a very big and accurate viewfinder with only a central autofocus point.
While the camera perform all the complex operations expected for such an equipement all buttons are in totally different positions than the newer EOS cameras, well hidden in the body. But once the initial settings are set, only program modes (P, Av, Tv etc.) and exposure compensation are within easy reach and are very fast to set making it easy for the photographer to concentrate in picture taken.
I liked this camera as it is fast, with an accurate exposure meter, a viewfinder that can ease focusing with a manual lens and a feel of a proffessional camera. Only problem is the central point autofocus that needs an extra care when framing.
