Kodak Vest Pocket, another try
This time I loaded a piece of 135 film on the backing paper of an 127 film.
All photos taken with the smaller apertures in bright light are blurred and burned out.
In low light with the B setting it got a little better.
it seems that light is leaking in when folding the camera
At bright conditions, too much light fogging the negative

Olympus GO 100, wide, simple and good
The Olympus GO 100 has a wide angle fixed lens of 28mm. There is only one aperture and one shutter speed around f5.6-f8 and 1/100 to 1/125th sec.
No need to focus, all objects within 1 to 20 meters get sharp.
The operation is very quick and quite. Just press the shutter, the picture is taken smoothly and the motor advances the film with some extra noise.
Here are some samples with a Fujifilm 100 ASA
and a B/W converted image

Yashica TL-Electro, a simple and efficient SLR
The Yashica TL-Electro is a simple SLR with manual metering. You decide of the aperture and the speed to use and the camera shows an up or down arrow in the viewfinder for overexposure or underexposure.
When two arrows are visible the exposure is right. The light metering is done with a lever that stops down the lens for the exposure. There are plenty of shutter speeds, from 1/1000th to 1 second plus B. There is also a self timer lever.
The camera uses the Pentax/Praktica M42 screw mount, which means you can use a wide variety of lenses.
The battery cap was missing in this one so I placed a button cell with some scotch tape. I also stuffed two 1.55 LR44 button cells with some foam and 1 cent coins into the battery compartement. The voltage seems right, as I got very well exposed photos.

I used some of my M42 lenses to test the camera together with Fujifilm 200 ASA.
Here are some samples:
with a 50s Twin Tele Tamron 135mm/f2.8
The Soviet Jupiter 85mm/f2 that is nice for portraits and candids
and a Hokunar 35mm/f2.8 that has a very low quality
The pictures are well exposed but the quality of the lens used governs the quality of the photo.

Sverdlovsk - 2 light meter.
The Sverdlovsk 2 is an interesting light meter. It has a viewfinder for selecting the metering area. It is a kind of spot meter.
I found one with an unusual leather case.
The metering is simple, select the DIN sensitivity, aim and press the side button. If a red led lights up you must turn the dial counterclockwise till the led turns off, or do it vice versa till the led turns on. Then read the exposure parameters from the dial.
Unfortunately there is no EV reading.
The battery used is an obsolete 3.75V Soviet battery. I stuffed an 1/2 AA battery rated at 3.6V and the meter works fine!

Yashica MF-2 Super with fresh film
I had a small portion of film left in a canister and decided to use it in the Yashica MF-2 Super.
It was a Fujifilm rated at 100 ASA. The pictures came out fine.
There is only one shutter speed around 1/100 - 1/125th sec and two apertures, a normal f8 and an f3.8 when the flash is on.
For the closer shots I used the flash option to have the f3.8 aperture. But even though I had fresh batteries the flash did not fire. The images with the f3.8 aperture are a bit soft but ok.
For the distant pictures the f8 aperture produces sharper images.
Here are the samples:
Some yellow found in the streets
and some orange...
